2025 Francis Chappell Open

Should we cancel the event considering the predicted heatwave?

Nerves were fluttering before the event as plans B and C were being compiled. However, the day turned out perfect, blue sunny skies with a brisk and cooling breeze. Let the bowling begin.

The tenth running of the Francis Chappell Open Triples Tournament. Twelve teams battled it out over the course of a day, three games before a well-deserved lunch break and then another two before the top two teams then played a final game. Eagerly supported by the gathered spectators oohing and aahing and dreaming of what could have been. For the third year in a row, top honours go to Woodcroft Bowls Club who edged out Duke of Kent Court Bowls Club in a thrilling final.

A superb day of competition, friendship, fun, hopes dashed and dreams realised.
