President's Day was a little later this year. About half the club turned out, including several of our newest members.
The game is Yardstick, we played 10 ends. It's really about drawing to the jack. Every wood within a yard of the jack counts - for both sides. Unusually, in this game it is possible for neither side to score i.e. everyone's woods are outside the metre circle. Today this did occur on rink 1 on their last end.
Afterwards a raffle was held for the magnificently full to overflowing hamper which was won by Sue Hampshire.
We also awarded the winner of the Bread Pudding prize. To be eligible you must play in at least three matches throughout the outdoor season and its awarded to the player with the highest average score. Runner up was Stan and the winner was a surprised Sylvia Lacey.
