Men’s North West Kent League
At the time of writing the men have played three matches in the North West Kent League. We have won one and lost two.
In the first match away against Halls, who are new to the league this year, we encountered a strong team and lost on both rinks.
In the second match at home to Woodcroft we enjoyed greater success, winning one rink and losing on the other, but winning the match overall.
Against Swanley away, we found difficulty reading the tricky green and suffered defeat on both rinks.
We are hoping for better results in future weeks.
Kent County Competitions
(Men's)
Bryn was our only entrant for the Men’s Unbadged Singles competition this year and in a difficult away draw, he suffered defeat by a rising star at Eltham .
Tim and Rob entered the Men’s Pairs but, in the first round work commitments prevented Tim from playing. Super-sub Stan stepped in and, in a very enjoyable match watched to the bitter end by Ron and Bryn, he and Rob gained a hard-earned win against a strong pair from Bromley.
Tim and Rob then progressed to the last 4 in their division following a good win away to a strong pair from New Beckenham (formerly RBS).
(Ladies')
Congratulations also go to Sue for winning her Kent singles first round match.
