3 of the men played at home in the first round of the Kent men's unbadged Singles competition
On the evening of Wednesday 30th May 3 men from the club played the first round of the Kent Men’s unbadged Singles competition at home.
Bryn played Vic from Woolwich and Plumstead.
Both these players struggled to find consistency.
Vic started to favour the shorter jack length and Bryn struggled with the weight.
Bryn put up a valiant fight but in the end had to concede to what was a convincing defeat.
On the next rink Mick got off to a good start against Bob from Met Police.
Bob came back and went on to take a comfortable lead. Mick hung in and picked up a four to bring him within one shot of Bob.
Bob then had a couple of good ends and held a match lie, despite a lot of thought Mick was unable to respond and after 22 ends lost by only 4 shots.
On the third rink Rob was pushed hard in the early ends by Bryan from WestvWickham.
There were some tight measures (ably carried out by Captain Ron) but Rob soon took a convincing lead.
Bryan could only stand and watch as Rob closed the game down and took a well earned victory.
